With travel plans put on hold due to the pandemic, the vacation accrual maximum in UC’s Absence from Work policy (PPSM-2.210) was temporarily lifted last year to allow policy-covered staff more time to use their accrued vacation leave to bring their accrual below the maximum.
All employees should check to make sure their contact information is up to date in UCPath.
UC Office of the President (UCOP) has announced that Calvin Turner will be joining Office of the President as UCPath Executive Director effective March 1, 2021.
Calvin’s appointment follows an extensive national search led by Heidrick & Struggles in collaboration with a systemwide search committee chaired by Stephen Whelan, Executive HR Director, UCI People Services and UCPath Steering Committee co-chair.
Former employees can access their UC employment information after they have separated from UC by logging in to the Former Employee portal. Recently, some people have experienced login issues that resulted in re-registration or password reset requests. If you are having trouble accessing the portal, please review these common issues and resolutions below.
Date of Birth
In accordance with requirements of the Affordable Care Act and various reporting requirements of other jurisdictions, UC employees and retirees will receive 1095-B and/or 1095-C forms verifying their health coverage for 2020. The forms are for employees’ and retirees’ information and records only; the forms are not filed with tax returns.
General Reminders regarding 1095-Cs and 1095-Bs:
Beginning on January 26, 2021, employees can access their 2020 UCPath W-2 online. For employees who requested an electronic version of their W-2, they will receive an email notification when it becomes available. For employees who did not select an electronic version, a printed W-2 will be mailed to the home address on file on Friday, January 29, 2021.

There has been a delay in issuing some Discovery Benefits WEX debit cards for Flexible Spending accounts, due to the vendor receiving incomplete address information from the UCPath Center.
Starting Dec. 7, 2020, all UC employees can schedule phone appointments with UCPath Center for assistance with submitted inquiries. One-hour appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm. Schedule an appointment at a time that’s convenient for you — no waiting required!
Appointments are a great idea for new employees who need help using UCPath for the first time, or who have questions about benefits enrollment. They’re also great for employees who need help with lengthy or multiple inquiries.

UCPath begins processing W-2s in late January. To ensure the information on your W-2 is complete, accurate, and reaches you, please take the following steps by January 15:
UCPath Center is preparing to transition in December from Oracle to AmazonWebServices (AWS) as the hosting provider for the UCPath system. The move to AWS allows for improved system performance, including faster payroll processing.
Due to this transition, UCPath Online will be unavailable beginning at 10pm on December 9, through 6am on December 14.
Open Enrollment will take place from 8am on October 29 through 5pm on November 24. UCPath Center is hosting Open Enrollment Webinars to share more about available options and how to select elections in UCPath Online. Register below to attend.
