Training Program Mission

UCPath Training: A Collaborative Effort

While the UCPath Training Program provides system knowledge and best practices, it relies on unit and regional partners to deliver business process guidance—including workflow management, task division within teams, and localized best practices. Together, we ensure HR professionals have the knowledge and tools to provide accurate, efficient, and high-quality service to employees.

UCPath Training Mission Statement

Lightbulb, bright with light.

Purpose

The UCPath Training Program establishes a strong foundation of UCPath knowledge for users across UC Berkeley. Training introduces learners to UCPath’s broader system functions and provides deep dives into transactional modules throughout the employee lifecycle. Designed to support both department and regional users, training ensures that participants gain role-appropriate knowledge and system access.

Training aims to:

  • Explain how Berkeley interfaces with UCPath at both the campus and UC-system levels.
  • Provide hands-on exploration in a Training Environment.
  • Build comfort and confidence navigating the system.
  • Encourage a critical-thinking and curious mindset when working in UCPath.
  • Offer detailed, step-by-step process guidance for executing transactions correctly.
  • Share best practices to ensure data integrity and prevent downstream issues, particularly those affecting pay and benefits.
  • Connect learners with essential resources for on-the-job support.
