An employee’s work study award balance appears to have a negative balance. How did this happen?

When Financial Aid reports updates to a work study award to UCPath, it is possible that the new award amount is less than the amount the employee has already used. In this case, the award balance will show as a negative value. In this case, you should submit Salary Cost Transfers using the Re-Apply WS option to get the award to a zero balance. The Financial Aid office can also use the ‘Remove WS’ option to unsplit the earnings to help get the award to a zero balance. Please consult with the FASO office for these transactions.
