The Salary Cost Transfer (SCT) and Benefits Costs Transfer (BCT) modules in UCPath are vital for correcting and reallocating payroll expenses. By ensuring payroll costs align with funding sources, the SCT and BCT processes support accurate financial reporting, compliance, and budget management across UC Berkeley.
The way to do this would be to select 'Remove WS' and move the earnings from the W row to the associated D row. Only Financial Aid and Scholarships Office should use the 'Remove WS' option. Please reach out to FASO for support on these Salary Cost Transfers.
It is not possible for a transactor to enter a work study Fund in the transaction. However, if there has been a change in the employee's award (resulting in a retroactive update to their position's Position Pool ID), you can use the 'Re-Apply WS', redistributing the earnings from the W row to the associated D row. The Re-Apply WS process would then re-split that D row using the fund associated with the new award and Position Pool ID.
UCPath has confirmed that the Direct Retro tool will be retired in June 2025. Once retired, transactors will still be able to view processed transactions via the Review Retro Distribution page, but will no longer be able to redistribute earnings that require a Direct Retro.
As a reminder, paychecks require use of the Direct Retro tool if:
The earnings are from October 2021 or earlier, orThe earnings have previously been redistributed via a Direct Retro
