Important reminders for employees separating from the UC

June 17, 2021

Update your email address

All employees should check to make sure their contact information is up to date in UCPath.

If you are separating from the University, it is especially important to keep your personal email address (an address that is not your @berkeley.edu address) up to date so that the UCPath Center can contact you regarding benefits and retirement information. Your personal email address is used to set up  your access to the UCPath Former Employee portal, which is how you can access employment records, past W-2s, and other important information after you have left the university.

For guidance, refer to the job aid on how to Update My Email Address

COBRA eligibility notifications

Employees who are retiring at the end of June will automatically be notified by Conexis, a UCPath vendor, that they are eligible for COBRA. This message goes out to all terminated employees—including those who are retiring. Retirees who qualify for medical benefits will remain covered by their employee benefits for the month of July, and will then be covered by the retirement system from August forward. They do not need to sign up for COBRA.

If you are a retiree who qualifies for medical benefits and you receive this notice, please disregard it. It is an automated notification, and does not mean that you have lost medical coverage.
