Final Pay Process Changes in UCPath

The UCPath Center will be implementing UC systemwide changes to the final pay process. The goal is to streamline the end-to-end process and reduce the time required to issue final pay. In order to meet these new timelines, they’ve asked us to review our front-end processes to ensure we are submitting timely and accurate information pertaining to terminations and/or extensions in UCPath. As a result, it’s imperative that departments and managers swiftly communicate terminations (i.e. supporting documentation) to HR and Regional staff upon receiving notice or learning of a termination.

The new schedules for final pay will be as follows:

  • Departments and Managers submit separation information to their Berkeley Regional Services (BRS) team or departmental HR support

    • 1-2 days after the notice from the employee

  • BRS HR and Payroll, or departmental HR

    • (voluntary separation): need to process the final pay transaction within 4-6 business days of notice

    • (involuntary separation): need to process final pay transactions within 3-5 business days of notice

  • UCPath Center

    • will process and issue pay within 5-7 business days from when they receive the final pay request, if termination is received before the final pay request
